Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the president has made the following nominations:
Navy Vice Adm. Gary Roughead has been nominated for appointment to the rank of admiral and assignment as commander, U.S. Pacific Fleet, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Roughead is currently serving as deputy commander, U.S. Pacific Command, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Navy Rear Adm. Barry M. Costello has been nominated for appointment to the rank of vice admiral and assignment as commander, THIRD Fleet, San Diego, Calif. Costello is presently serving as chief of Legislative Affairs, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
