Pete Geren, Special Assistant to the Secretary of Defense, will lead the DoD delegation to memorial services for former U.S. Representative Tillie Fowler, who died March 2, 2005, in Jacksonville, Fla.
Geren is a former member of Congress from Texas who served on the Armed Services Committee with former Representative Fowler.
"Tillie Fowler served Florida and the country with great distinction and grace," said Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld. "The Department of Defense benefited from her counsel and leadership, and she will be missed."
