The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Sgt. James A. Sherrill, 27, of Ekron, Ky., died April 3, in Bayji, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device detonated near his military vehicle. Sherrill was assigned to the Army National Guards 2113th Transportation Company, Paducah, Ky.
