The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Cpl. Joseph S. Tremblay, 23, of New Windsor, N.Y., died April 27 from injuries received from a mine explosion while conducting combat operations in vicinity of Hit, Iraq. He was assigned to Marine Forces Reserves 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Moundsville, W.Va. As part of Operation Iraqi Freedom his unit was attached to 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward).
