FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that thePresident has nominated Vice Admiral Archie R. Clemins, U.S. Navy, forappointment to the grade of admiral and assignment as Commander in Chief, U.S.Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Vice Admiral Clemins is currentlyserving as Commander SEVENTH Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan.
Vice Admiral Clemins was born November 18, 1943 in Mount Vernon,Illinois.
