FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that thePresident has nominated Rear Admiral Herbert A. Browne, Jr., II, U.S. Navy, forappointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as Commander THIRDFleet in San Diego, California.
Rear Admiral Browne is currently serving asDeputy and Chief of Staff, U.S. Pacific Fleet in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
Rear Admiral Browne was born August 2, 1943 in McKinney, Texas.
