DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

Sgt. Michael J. Stokely, 23, of Sharpsburg, Ga., died on Aug. 16, 2005, in Baghdad, Iraq, where an improvised explosive device detonated near his dismounted patrol. Stokely was assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion, 108th Armor Regiment, 48th Brigade Combat Team, Griffin, Ga.
