Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Air Force Lt. Gen. John F. Regni has been nominated for re-appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as superintendent, U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colo. Regni is currently serving as commander, Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Stephen R. Lorenz has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Air University, Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala. Lorenz is currently serving as deputy assistant secretary for budget, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Air Force Maj. Gen. Douglas M. Fraser has been nominated for appointment to the grade of lieutenant general with assignment as commander, Alaskan Command, U.S. Pacific Command; commander, Eleventh Air Force, Pacific Air Forces; and commander, Alaskan North American Defense Region, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. Fraser is currently serving as director, air and space operations, Headquarters Air Force Space Command, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
