General Officer Announcements

Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Brig. Gen. Michael D. Barbero for promotion to the grade of major general. Barbero is currently serving as commanding general, Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk, Fort Polk, La.

Army Brig. Gen. Salvatore F. Cambria for promotion to the grade of major general. Cambria is currently serving as director of operations, J-3, U. S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla.

Army Brig. Gen. John M. Custer III for promotion to the grade of major general. Custer is currently serving as director of intelligence, J-2, U. S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Army Brig. Gen. Richard P. Formica for promotion to the grade of major general. Formica is currently serving as director of force management, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. David P. Fridovich for promotion to the grade of major general. Fridovich is currently serving as commander, Special Operations Command Pacific, U.S. Pacific Command, Camp H. M. Smith, Hawaii.

Army Brig. Gen. William T. Grisoli for promotion to the grade of major general. Grisoli is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Engineer Division, North Atlantic, Fort Hamilton Military Community, Brooklyn, N.Y.

Army Brig. Gen. Carter F. Ham for promotion to the grade of major general. Ham is currently serving as deputy director, regional operations, J-3, The Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Jeffery W. Hammond for promotion to the grade of major general. Hammond is currently serving as director of operations, readiness and mobilization, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Frank G. Helmick for promotion to the grade of major general. Helmick is currently serving as senior military assistant to the deputy secretary of defense, Office of the Deputy Secretary of Defense, Washington, D.C.

Army Brig. Gen. Paul S. Izzo for promotion to the grade of major general. Izzo is currently serving as commanding general, Picatinny Arsenal/program executive officer, ammunition,

Army Brig. Gen. Francis H. Kearney III for promotion to the grade of major general. Kearney is currently serving as commander, Special Operations Command Central, U.S. Central Command, MacDill Air Force Base, Fla.

Army Brig. Gen. Stephen R. Layfield for promotion to the grade of major general. Layfield is currently serving as deputy chief of staff for operations, G-3, Allied Command Europe Rapid Reaction Corps, Germany.

Army Brig. Gen. Robert P. Lennox for promotion to the grade of major general. Lennox is currently serving as commanding general, U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery Center and Fort Bliss, Fort Bliss, Texas.

Army Brig. Gen. William H. McCoy Jr. for promotion to the grade of major general. McCoy is currently serving as commander, Gulf Region Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq

Army Brig. Gen. Timothy P. McHale for promotion to the grade of major general. McHale is currently serving as commanding general, 19th Theater Support Command, Eighth U.S. Army, Germany.

Army Brig. Gen. John W. Morgan III for promotion to the grade of major general. Morgan is currently serving as deputy commanding general/chief of staff, I Corps and and Fort Lewis

Army Brig. Gen. Michael L. Oates for promotion to the grade of major general. Oates is currently serving as assistant division commander (operations), 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) currently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq.

Army Brig. Gen. Robert M. Radin for promotion to the grade of major general. Radin is currently serving as deputy chief of staff for logistics and operations, U.S. Army Materiel Command, Fort Belvoir, Va.

Army Brig. Gen. Curtis M. Scaparrotti for promotion to the grade of major general. Scaparrotti is currently serving as commandant of cadets, U.S. Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
