GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
Lt. Gen. Robert L. Ord III, United States Army, will be placed on
the retired list in his current grade. Ord will retire after
completion of more than 34 years of service. Since November
1993, he has been serving as the commanding general, United
States Army Pacific, Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
Ord was born on May 12, 1940, in Philadelphia, Penn.
