FLAG OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the President has nominated Vice Admiral John S. Redd, U.S. Navy,
for reappointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as
Director, Strategic Plans and Policy, J-5, Joint Staff in the
Pentagon. Vice Admiral Redd is currently serving as Commander,
United States Naval Forces, Central Command and Commander FIFTH
Fleet in Bahrain.
Vice Admiral Redd was born September 10, 1944 in Omaha,
Nebraska.
