GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry announced today that
the President has nominated Maj. Gen. Patrick K. Gamble, United
States Air Force, for appointment to the grade of lieutenant
general with assignment as commander, Alaskan Command, United
States Pacific Command; commander, 11th Air Force, Pacific Air
Forces; and commander, Alaskan NORAD Region, Elmendorf AFB,
Alaska. Gamble is currently assigned as assistant chief of
staff, Operations/Logistics, Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers
Europe, Mons, Belgium.
Gamble was born Nov. 12, 1945, in Fresno, Calif.
