GENERAL OFFICER ANNOUNCEMENT
Secretary of Defense William Perry announced today that the
President has nominated Lt. Gen. Lester L. Lyles, United States
Air Force, for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general
with assignment as director, Ballistic Missile Defense
Organization, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. Lyles is currently
assigned as commander, Space and Missile Systems Center, Air
Force Materiel Command, Los Angeles AFB, Calif.
Lyles was born April 20, 1946, in Washington, D.C.
