Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Army Maj. Gen N. Ross Thompson III for the appointment to the grade of lieutenant general and assignment as military deputy/director, Army Acquisition Corps, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Acquisition, Logistics and Technology), Washington, D.C. Thompson is currently serving as director, Program Analysis and Evaluation, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, United States Army, Washington, D.C.
