General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has nominated Marine Corps Lieutenant General James N. Mattis for reappointment to the grade of lieutenant general and for appointment as the commanding general, I Marine Expeditionary Force and Commander, United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command. Mattis is currently serving as the commanding general, Marine Corps Combat Development Command, Quantico, Virginia. |
