DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of two soldiers who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.  They died in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on June 17, when an improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV during combat operations.  Both soldiers were assigned to the 40th Engineer Battalion, Baumholder, Germany.

Killed were:

Sgt.  Reyes Ramirez, 23, of Willis, Texas,

Spc. Robert L. Jones, 22, of Milwaukie, Ore.
