Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld announced today that the President has made the following nominations:
Navy Vice Adm. Evan M. Chanik Jr. for re-appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as commander, Second Fleet, Norfolk, Va. Chanik is currently serving as director, force structure, resources and assessment, J-8, Joint Staff, Pentagon, Washington, D.C.
Navy Rear Adm. Michael K. Loose for appointment to the grade of vice admiral and assignment as deputy chief of naval operations for fleet readiness and logistics, N4, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, DC. Loose is currently serving as commander, Naval Facilities Engineering Command/Chief of Civil Engineers, Washington, DC.
