Today in the Department of Defense, May 6, 2016

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter and Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work have no public or media events on their schedules.  Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr. is traveling.
Army Col. Steven Warren, spokesman, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR), answers questions about CJTF-OIR operations in a Reddit "I Am A" session at 1 p.m. EDT.   The "I Am A" session is an opportunity to ask Col. Warren anything, with emphasis on the Coalition of over 60 nations and their operations to defeat ISIL and enable our partner forces in Iraq and Syria.   You may follow the session and submit questions at Reddit's IAmA  subreddit forum; a free membership is required to participate.  Please call 703-697-5131 if you have any questions about this event.
