Signing Ceremony for Environmental Agreement with New Jersey
Sherri Goodman, deputy under secretary of Defense for Environmental Security, and representatives of the state of New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection will sign a multi-site cleanup agreement and conduct a press conference on Wednesday, August 30, 2000, at 1:30 p.m., in the DoD Press Briefing Room, 2E781.
The agreement supports an on-going effort to assess and eliminate potential environmental and public health risks at military sites in New Jersey. The agreement is expected to speed investigations and cleanups at military sites, as well as promote the use of innovative cleanup technologies.
Other attendees include the Army, Navy and Air Force's Deputy Assistant Secretaries for Environment.
