TIME CORRECTION- SECRETARY Of DEFENSE COHEN TO PROVIDE UPDATE ON DRI

TIME CORRECTION

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will provide a progress report on the Defense Reform Initiative in a press briefing at 11 a.m. (EST) (not 10 a.m. as originally announced) on Monday, March 1, 1999, in the Pentagon Briefing Studio, Room 2E781. Deputy Secretary of Defense John J. Hamre will also provide information on other reform initiatives that have been added under the DRI umbrella during the past year.

The Defense Reform Initiative, launched in November 1997, is modernizing defense business practices to match sweeping changes in America's military affairs. It is sponsoring changes in activities ranging from purchasing techniques to management structure.

(Editor's note: Background details on the Defense Reform Initiative are available on the DRI Internet site at http://www.defenselink.mil/dodreform.)
