On Tuesday, June 1, at 11 a.m. (EDT) Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will address the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets and other students and the faculty at Woodbridge High School, Woodbridge, Va. He will be accompanied by Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Rudy de Leon and other defense officials.
JROTC is a high school program of instruction designed to teach citizenship and leadership, while instilling self-esteem, teamwork, and self-discipline. There are more than 400,000 young people participating in the program in almost 2,600 schools across the nation.
Cohen's remarks will focus on JROTC and youth leadership. There will be a brief media availability about noon prior to his departure from Woodbridge.
