Kick - Off Ceremony For Acquisition and Logistics Reform Week June 8,1999

Tuesday, June 8, 1999, marks the kick-off event for the Department's Acquisition and Logistics Reform Week. The event is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Pentagon Courtyard and will feature opening comments by Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Henry H. Shelton, and other senior DoD civilian leaders. Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Technology Jacques Gansler is hosting the event and will be the keynote speaker for the kick-off ceremony.

The Department of Defense will observe this year's Acquisition and Logistics Reform Week from June 7-11, 1999, with the theme Accelerating the Revolution. This theme is aimed at increasing awareness of the Department's many acquisition reform initiatives.

Exhibits and displays will be featured around the courtyard reflecting DoD reform efforts.
