Thursday's regularly scheduled DoD press briefing will begin at 2 p.m. (EST).
Immediately preceding the briefing, at 1:30 p.m., Bernard Rostker, special assistant for Gulf War illnesses, will release the first joint Department of Defense - United Kingdom Ministry of Defence case narrative related to the ongoing investigation into the possible causes of Gulf War illnesses.
Both briefings will be in the Pentagon briefing studio, Room 2E781.
The narrative describes significant events relating to the discovery and testing of a suspected chemical warfare agent found in a storage tank outside a school in Kuwait City, Kuwait in early August 1991.
Paper copies of the narrative will be available in the directorate for Defense Information, at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the briefing.
Media or couriers without Pentagon access should use the Pentagon's Mall Entrance (not the Metro entrance) and call 697-5131 from the telephone adjacent to the entrance security guard post to arrange for pick up/delivery of a copy of the narrative.
The document will also be accessible via the Internet at www.gulflink.osd.mil after 10:30 a.m. the day of the briefing.
The point of contact for Rostker's briefing is Maj. Tom Gilroy, (703) 697-5134.
