Gen. Henry H. Shelton, U.S. Army, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base, Md., for a visit to Headquarters, European Command in Stuttgart, Germany, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Hungary, Denmark, and The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia on Friday, April 10.
He will arrive in Sarajevo on Saturday, April 11, and is scheduled to meet with the Commander of the Peace Stabilization Force (SFOR) and to visit with U.S. troops.
On Easter Sunday, April 12, Shelton will visit U.S. troops in Tuzla and attend Easter Sunrise Service and an Easter Mass.
Shelton will be in Hungary on Monday, April 13.
He will visit U.S. troops in Taszar before arriving in Budapest, where he will be the guest of his counterpart, Lt. Gen. Ferenc Vegh, chief of Defense.
He will also participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at Hero's Square to honor fallen Hungarian soldiers and participate in a press conference on April 14.
In Denmark, on April 15-16, he will be the guest of his counterpart, Gen. Christian Hvidt, then travel to Skopje, The Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia, on April 16, where he will be the guest of Gen. Trajche Krstevski, chief of Defense, and visit U.S. forces serving as part of Task Force Able Sentry.
On April 17-18, he will attend meetings in Baden-Baden, Germany, with his NATO counterparts from Germany, United Kingdom and France, before returning to Washington, D.C. on April 19.
