Acting Secretary of the Air Force F. Whitten Peters and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Michael E. Ryan Will Hold a Press Conference
Acting Secretary of the Air Force F. Whitten Peters and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Michael E. Ryan will hold a press conference in the Department of Defense Press Studio, Room 2E781, the Pentagon, at 10 a.m., on Aug. 4, to answer questions concerning the Air Force's move to become an expeditionary aerospace force (EAF) within the next 18 months.
By January 2000, the Air Force will create an organization that will better use people and resources to meet the national security requirements of the next century. Implementation of the EAF concept will reduce today's extremely busy deployment tempo for Air Force personnel and provide a more rapid, robust and flexible response capability.
