National POW/MIA Recognition Day Ceremony
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will host an armed forces full honors ceremony for National POW/MIA Recognition Day at the Pentagon, 11 a.m. (EDT), Friday, Sept. 18, 1998.
Retired U.S. Air Force Col. Norman A. McDaniel will be the guest speaker. McDaniel was an EB-66 Electronic Warfare Officer and was shot down over North Vietnam on July 20, 1966 during his 51st mission. He remained a prisoner of war until his release on Feb. 12, 1973.
The ceremony will be held on the River Parade Field of the Pentagon
