DoD News Briefing for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, 1997 canceled
There will no 1:30 p.m. DoD News Briefing on Thursday, Feb.
27, 1997 due to public appearances by both the Secretary of
Defense and Deputy Secretary of Defense that day.
Deputy Secretary of Defense John P. White and Assistant
Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs Stephen C. Joseph will
testify before the Senate Armed Services Committee on Gulf War
Illnesses beginning at 10 a.m.
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will conduct a news
conference at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, at 4:40 p.m.
Central Standard Time (5:40 EST). Arrangements have been to air
the event on Pentagon Cable Channel 13.
