The National Defense Panel (NDP) will conduct the first of
two planned outreach seminars on April 16th in the Galaxy Room,
Sheraton National Hotel, 900 South Orme Street, Arlington, Va.
The seminar is open to the public and will begin at 9:00 a.m. and
end about noon.
The purpose of this seminar is to ensure the NDP receives a
wide range of opinions on national defense topics from the public
and private sector.
Scheduled to speak at this seminar are John
Steinbruner from the Brookings Institute, Dr. Dan Goure and Ryan
Henry from the Center for Strategic and International Studies and
Richard Perle of the American Enterprise Institute.
The NDP, appointed by the Secretary of Defense on Feb. 6,
1997, will review and make recommendations to the Secretary on
the department's ongoing Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR).
