The National Defense Panel (NDP) will conduct its second
outreach seminar on April 29th at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City
Hotel, 2799 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, Va.
The seminar
is open to the public and will begin at 9 a.m. (EDT) and end
about noon.
The purpose of this seminar is to ensure the NDP receives a
wide range of opinions on national defense topics from the public
and private sector.
Scheduled to speak at this seminar are Kim
Holmes of the Heritage Foundation, retired Rear Adm. John J.
Shanahan of the Center for Defense Information, and retired
Lt.Gen. Thomas G.
McInerney from Business Executives for
National Security.
The NDP, appointed by the Secretary of Defense on Feb. 6,
1997, will review and make recommendations to the secretary on
the department's ongoing Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR).
