Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, will host a Joint Service Full Honors Ceremony for Vice
Adm. Willy M. Herteleer, chief of the general staff, Kingdom of
Belgium, at Whipple Field, Fort Myer, Virginia, at 9 a.m. (EDT),
Friday, May 23, 1997.
Herteleer will be in the United States May 17-24 as the
guest of Shalikashvili. While in Washington, he will meet with
U.S. and Belgium officials. He is also scheduled to visit
various Army, Navy, and Air Force installations prior to
departure to Belgium on May 24.
