Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to Host Full Honors for Chief of Australian Defense Forces

Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will host a Joint Service Full Honors Ceremony for Gen. John S. Baker, chief of the Defence Force, Commonwealth of Australia, at 9:40 a.m. (EDT), Thursday, July 17, 1997 at Whipple Field, Fort Myer, Va.

Baker will be in the United States July 14-21 as the guest of Shalikashvili. While in Washington, he will meet with U.S. and Australian officials. Baker is also scheduled to visit various Army and Navy facilities prior to the end of his official visit on July 21.
