Exercise Central Asian Battalion '97 Brief
U.S. Atlantic Command's Director for Joint Training, Brig. Gen. Martin R. Berndt, USMC, will discuss and take questions on Exercise Central Asian Battalion (CENTRAZBAT) '97 at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, in the Pentagon Press Briefing Room 2E781.
The regular DoD press briefing will follow this special presentation.
This exercise will involve forces from the Central Asian Battalion (CENTRAZBAT -- Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan), training alongside U.S., Russian, Turkish, Latvian and Georgian airborne troops in mid-September in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
