DepSecDef Unveiling/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Deputy Secretary of Defense John J. Hamre will host a ceremony kicking off the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Department of Defense in the Pentagon at 9:30 a.m. (EDT), Monday, Sept. 15, 1997.

Hamre will be joined by Director of Administration and Management David O. Cooke in unveiling a special United States Postal Service Commemorative Cancellation commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Department of Defense.

Immediately following the unveiling, Hamre and Cooke will cut a ribbon opening a permanent exhibit depicting the first 50 years of the Department of Defense. Both events will be take place on the 2nd Floor, A-Ring, between Corridors 1 and 2.
