Environmental Awards ceremony with SecDef
Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will receive an award from Carol Browner, administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency for the Defense Department's significant accomplishments toward reducing the use of ozone depleting substances.
Cohen and Browner will make brief statements about global climate change.
The ceremony will be held in the press briefing room, (2E781), at 2 p.m. (EDT), Thursday, Sept. 25, 1997.
During the ceremony, Sherri W. Goodman, deputy under secretary of Defense for Environmental Security, will recognize several individuals in the Defense Department and defense industry for their international award-winning contributions in reducing reliance on ozone depleting substances.
Media planning to attend this event who do not have a DoD press pass should call the media relations office, 697-5131, to have someone escort them into the building.
