Gen. Shelton's Visits To Germany and Bosnia
Gen. Henry H. Shelton, U.S. Army, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base on Wednesday evening, Oct. 8, for visits to Germany and Bosnia.
Upon arrival in Germany on Thursday, Oct. 9, the chairman will travel to the U.S. European Command in Stuttgart for briefings. Shelton will continue to Bonn to visit with his German counterpart, Gen. Hartmut Bagger, chief of staff of the Federal Armed Forces, and will also meet with German ministry of defense officials. Shelton will participate in a conference on Friday, Oct. 10, hosted by Bagger, and attended by counterparts from the United Kingdom and France. Conference topics will include NATO issues of enlargement, adaptation, Partnership for Peace, and Bosnia.
In Bosnia, Shelton will meet with SFOR commanders and officials in Tuzla and Camp McGovern on Saturday, Oct. 11. He is scheduled to return to Washington that evening.
