Secretary of the Air Force Sheila E. Widnall, the 18th Air Force Secretary, is to be honored at a farewell review and awards ceremony, Thursday, Oct. 23, 1997, at Bolling Air Force Base, Washington, D.C., starting at 10 a.m. (EDT).
Gen. Michael E. Ryan, Air Force chief of staff, will host the event. During the ceremony, Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen will present Widnall the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service.
Also in attendance will be Widnall's husband, William Widnall, and other family members. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Henry H. Shelton, and other dignitaries will also attend.
