Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Rudy de Leon will host the award of the National Freedom Award recognizing outstanding support by employers of members of the National Guard and Reserve in a Pentagon ceremony at 2 p.m., tomorrow, Nov. 5, 1997, in the Pentagon Briefing Room (Rm 2E781).
Joining Secretary de Leon will be Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs Deborah R. Lee and William Bowen, chair for the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.
Receiving this year's award will be Charles Machine Works, an Oklahoma-based worldwide underground construction equipment company. Four regional Employer Support Freedom Awards will also be presented to companies from Illinois, Florida, Pennsylvania and Oregon.
