Clarification Statement by The Chairman of The Joint Chiefs of Staff
During a recent DoD news conference, Gen. Richard B. Myers, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff was asked a question about the armored capability of the Stryker versus an Up-Armored High-Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (Humvee).
The following statement is provided for clarification:
"In order to clarify any misperception regarding my comments during the Pentagon press briefing on Tuesday, April, 27 concerning the armor protection of the Up-Armored Humvee and Stryker vehicle, the Stryker provides better protection than an Up-Armored Humvee."
