Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base on Friday, May 10, 1996, for Indonesia and Singapore, with a stopover in Hawaii enroute and on return where he will consult with the
Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base on Friday, May 10,
1996, for Indonesia and Singapore, with a stopover in Hawaii
enroute and on return where he will consult with the Commander-in-
Chief, U.S. Pacific Command. During the visit to Indonesia, he
will be the guest of his counterpart, General Teisal Tanjung,
Commander-in-Chief, Indonesian Armed Forces. In Singapore, he
will be the guest of his counterpart, Major General Soo Khiang
Bey, Chief of the Defence Force, Armed Forces of Singapore. He
will also meet with senior U.S. civilian officials and host
government civilian and military leaders in both countries.
Prior to returning to Washington, D.C. on May 19, he will
participate in an Armed Forces Day Banquet in Albuquerque, New
Mexico, on May 18.
