Gen Shalikashvili will depart Andrews AFB on Friday, June 7 for Ukraine, Norway, Brussels and London.
Gen. John M. Shalikashvili, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, will depart Andrews Air Force Base on Friday, June 7,
1996, for Ukraine, Norway, Brussels and London. While in the
Ukraine, he will observe the multi-lateral peacekeeping exercise
Peace Shield 96. In Norway, he will be the guest of his
counterpart, Gen. Arne Solli, Chief of Defense of the Armed
Forces, Ministry of Defense. While there he will meet with
senior U.S. civilian officials and host government civilian and
military leaders. At NATO headquarters in Brussels, he will
attend the Defense Planning Conference on June 13 and 14.
Gen. Shalikashvili will travel with Secretary of Defense
William J. Perry to London as the guest of Her Majesty's
Government for events celebrating the birthday of Queen
Elizabeth. He will return to Washington, D.C. on June 16.
