Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to Address Soldiers
Air Force Gen. Richard B. Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will join North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley in addressing the soldiers and families of the North Carolina Army National Guard's 30th Heavy Separate Brigade during the unit's deployment ceremony this Thursday, Feb. 12, at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, N.C.
The 30th Heavy Separate Brigade is the first full National Guard combat brigade activated and deployed for service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. This activation marks the largest call-up of North Carolina National Guard soldiers since World War II.
