Deputy Defense Secretary to Host Ceremony for POW/MIA Recognition Day
Deputy Secretary of Defense John P. White will host an
Armed Forces Full Honors Ceremony for National POW/MIA
Recognition Day at the Pentagon at 11:30 a.m. (EDT),
Friday, Sept. 20, 1996.
Vice Adm. William P. Lawrence, U.S. Navy (Ret.), will
be the guest speaker. Vice Adm. Lawrence was shot down over
North Vietnam in June 1967 and held as a POW until March
1973.
The Ceremony will be held on the River Parade Field of
the Pentagon.
