Secretary of Defense William J. Perry will participate in an award ceremony at
Fort Drum, New York on Thursday, February 16, 1995 honoring members of the 10th
Mountain Division for their accomplishments during Operation Uphold Democracy
in Haiti. The ceremony will take place at Fort Drum's Soldiers Gymnasium,
Building 10050, 4th Street, beginning at 2:30 p.m. (EST). General John
Shalikashvili, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff; General Gordon Sullivan,
Army chief of staff; and General John Sheehan, commander-in-chief, United
States Atlantic Command, will also participate in the ceremony.
Secretary Perry will hold a brief media availability following the ceremony.
