Assistant Secretary of Defense for Economic Security Joshua Gotbaum will hold a
press briefing Wednesday, March 15, 1995 at 1:30 p.m. in the Department of
Defense Briefing Studio, room 2E781, the Pentagon. The purpose of the briefing
is to address community reuse of closing military bases.
Joining Gotbaum will be Mayor Katy Roberts Podagrosi of Rantoul, Ill., home of
the former Chanute Air Force Base, and Mayor Edward "Ned" Randolph of
Alexandria, La., home of the former England Air Force Base. The mayors will
explain how their communities are successfully recovering following closure of
the local installation.
