No. 097-P:03/31/95:The Department of Defense will conduct a
The Department of Defense will conduct a Joint Service Full Honors Ceremony to
honor the veterans of the Battle of Okinawa at the Pentagon's Lower Parade
Field at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 1, 1995. Secretary of the Army Togo West is
scheduled to deliver the keynote address.
The Navy Memorial will also mark the 50th anniversary of the invasion of
Okinawa with a ceremony at 2 p.m., April 1, 1995, at the Navy Memorial on
Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W. in Washington, D.C.
