No. 161-P:05/22/95:The U.S. Army will honor 2nd Lt. Scott T
The U.S. Army will honor 2nd Lt. Scott T. Guenther, this year's recipient of
the Hughes Trophy Award, in a Pentagon ceremony at 11 a.m. (EDT) on Tuesday,
May 23, 1995, in the General Officers' Mess, Room 3C668. Assistant Secretary
of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs Sara E. Lister will present the
award.
Each year the Hughes Aircraft Company presents the Hughes Trophy Award to the
most outstanding Reserve Officers' Training Corps commissioned graduate of the
previous academic year. Professors of Military Science and the Deans of
Academic Institutions nominate candidates based on military science and
academic scholarship, officer potential and community service. A board of
officers at ROTC Cadet Command selects the award recipient.
