The Advanced Research Projects Agency will host a symposium on softwaretechnology and intelligent systems at Westfields International ConferenceCenter, Chantilly, Va., August 29-31.

The symposium focuses on the evolution of information technology and itseffect on waging war and maintaining peace. Key defense officials will makeremarks about their perspectives on information-based warfare. In addition,the event features technical presentations and demonstrations of softwaretechnologies and intelligent systems applications such as planning and decisionaids, image understanding systems, human language systems, human computerinteraction technologies, and autonomous vehicles.
