No. 268-P:09/26/95:Secretary of Defense William J. Perry an
Secretary of Defense William J. Perry and Secretary of State Warren Christopher
will meet with Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Yohei Kono and Minister of
Defense Seishiro Eto on Wednesday, September 27, 1995, at the 1995 Security
Consultative Committee Meeting in New York City.
The meeting will be preceeded by a five-minute photo opportunity in the
Baselton Room on the third floor of the Waldorf Astoria Hotel beginning at
10:00 a.m. Media should arrive by 9:00 a.m. for clearance into the room.
The meeting will be followed by the Special Measures Agreement Signing Ceremony
in the East Foyer on the third floor from 11:45 a.m. to 12:00 noon. There will
be a brief address by each of the principals following the ceremony. This
event is open to the press.
There will also be a 30-minute background briefing after the signing ceremony
by senior Defense and State Department officials in the East Foyer.
