Secretary of Defense William J. Perry will accept the Quality of Life Task
Force Report from the Honorable John O. Marsh, former Secretary of the Army and
task force chair, on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the DoD press briefing room
(2E781). Marsh will then present an overview of the report.
The task force was set up in November 1994 by the Secretary to make
recommendations on how to improve the quality of life of military personnel,
their families, and civilian employees in the Department of Defense.
Retired Rear. Adm. Roberta L. Hazard, chairwoman of the panel on Housing,
retired Army Gen. John A. Wickham, Jr., chairman of the panel on Personnel
Tempo, and retired Gen. John A. Shaud, chairman of the panel on Community and
Family Support Services, will brief their respective areas.
A list of task force members is attached.
This event will take place in lieu of the regularly schedule DoD press
briefing.
