No. 316-P:10/27/95:General John M. Shalikashvili, chairman
General John M. Shalikashvili, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, will
depart Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland, on Sunday, October 29, 1995, for Japan
and Korea, with a stopover in Hawaii on return.
During the visit to Japan and Korea, he will be the guest of his counterparts,
General Tetsuya Nishimoto, chairman of the Joint Staff Council, Japan, and
General Kim Dong-Jim, chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Republic of Korea.
In Korea, he will attend the annual Military Committee/Security Consultative
Meetings, along with Secretary of Defense William J. Perry, November 2-3.
During the visit, General Shalikashvili will also meet with senior US and host
government civilian and military officials and with the commander in chief, US
Pacific Command.
He will return to Andrews AFB on November 5.
